Following strict LSA (Lead Sheet Association) standards, we expertly dress front aprons, back gutters, and complex stepped flashings directly into the brickwork, creating an impenetrable waterproof seal that expands and contracts naturally with the Devon weather.
Hydraulic Lime Mortar & Flaunching
We do not simply smear new cement over old, crumbling joints. Our process involves raking out decayed mortar to a structurally sound depth before repointing. For the historic and period properties prevalent in Torquay and Totnes, we utilise traditional hydraulic lime mortars (NHL). This allows the heritage masonry to "breathe", preventing frost damage and brick spalling. Finally, we recast the uppermost crown of the stack with rigid 3:1 sand and cement flaunching, locking your chimney pots immovably in place against extreme wind loads.
